In our milestone 40th anniversary year we’ve delivered our range of natural and hybrid ventilation solutions to projects across the UK, working closely with specifiers to provide support and technical advice at every stage. Here are just some of our highlights of 2024.
We’re now on IESVE
This summer we partnered with Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) to make the specification process even easier.
Our Airscoop roof ventilation terminal, as one of our most frequently specified products, was the first to be introduced to the Virtual Environment (VE) platform IESVE – an integrated suite for accurate whole building performance simulation. Within the platform, a dedicated VE Navigator guides users through a stepped process, from importing the products into their model, configuring their operation, preparing, and applying to rooms, thermal simulation and compliance analysis. Through IESVE, specifiers have a fast, streamlined and easy-to-use method of simulating the effect of products like our own Airscoop roof terminal within their VE models. More products from our range will be added in 2025.
Airscoop hits the target at archery facility
Our Airscoop roof terminals were specified to help naturally ventilate a 70m indoor shooting range at the new performance archery facility which opened in the spring at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, home to Archery GB. Ideally suited to large buildings and deep plan spaces, the energy-saving design of the Airscoop terminals requires no power to move the air, instead harnessing the natural power of displacement ventilation to direct fresh air via four separate chambers to the indoor space below, whilst also extracting stale air. It’s also covered by our 15 year No Leak Guarantee and features patented double bank louvres providing Class A rain rejection.
SoundScoop makes the grade at new primary school
Our patented SoundScoop® cross-talk attenuators, which enable cross ventilation whilst providing exceptional acoustic attenuation, have recently been installed at Ysgol Penbre (Pembrey School) a new purpose-built primary school in Wales designed and constructed to meet Passivhaus standards. The SoundScoop® units fit discretely within the bulkheads that supply the classrooms with fresh air, which can also be heated or cooled as required via a centralised air-handling plant. The SoundScoop units then passively exhaust air back out into the central circulation space for it to be extracted, tempered and redistributed back into the classrooms by the main air-handling plant. The SoundScoop is passive in operation and requires no maintenance making it a cost-efffective natural ventilation solution.
Showcasing our product range
Our team has been out on the road this year to bring our range of natural and hybrid ventilation products to you, exhibiting at the South East Construction Expo in Surrey, the MPBA’s (Modular and Portable Building Association) national conference in Loughborough, Architecture and Building Expo in Dublin and BE-ST Fest (Built Environment – Smarter Transformation) in Scotland.
And don’t forget you can also visit our two showrooms, located in the Business Design Centre in Islington, London and in Newtownabby, Belfast. As well as being an ideal meeting point, they offer a chance to see our Airscoop roof terminal and Aircool window/wall ventilators in situ.
