“We started to investigate ways to remove weld fume from our large fabrication shops. We looked at ducted fume removal systems but due to the size of the shop, the large structures we build and several other obstacles, these types of systems couldn’t guarantee a final working product. We also found these types of products to be very costly and couldn’t warrant that kind of spend on something that may not work.

We had to look at a different method and decided that getting better air movement within the fabrication shops was a logical first step. Passivent assisted with the design for a roof mounted air movement system. Initially designed as a passive system we went with the additional fans for added performance. Moving air and other contaminants out of the fabrication workspace quicker provides a cleaner environment for our operatives to work in. The Passivent system also assists in the hotter months by keeping the workshops cooler. The site technician (Ray) has been a tremendous help configuring the system to our needs. The system is very flexible and can be configured many ways to get something that works for you.”
