Introducing Jo Foulkes, our Commercial Operations Manager and a longstanding pillar of the Building Product Design team for whom some may recognise from our sister company ‘Kingfisher Louvres’. Discover Jo’s Passivent role, her childhood aspirations, and love for animals!
Name: Jo Foulkes
Job title: Commercial Operations Manager
How long have you worked for Passivent? I’ve been a part of the wider Building Product Design Group for 14 years and have been a part of the Passivent team for almost a year.
What are the key aspects of your role? My role covers all the operational and administrative functions for the Passivent team. This involves co-ordinating the management of projects once orders have been placed, reviewing, and updating procedures within the team with a focus on increasing and maintaining our high levels of customer service and offering support to the rest of the team by providing data, reports or guidance.
What do you enjoy the most about your role? The variety! We speak to so many different customers on a daily basis and due to the bespoke nature of the products and the projects we supply to everyday is a school day!
Tell us something we don’t know about you? I love animals and have a dog (Nellie), a cat (Scampi), a chameleon (Percy) and tropical fish (various). If I had the house space/time/money I’d have even more pets.
What is your favourite film or TV show and why? My go to films are probably the Harry Potter series or Stepbrothers. A favourite TV show is too hard to choose but some highlights include Game of Thrones, Line of Duty and Friends.
What’s the most interesting place you have travelled to? I’ve recently been to Rome and can honestly say it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been to. We had a bit of a packed schedule but toured the Colosseum, The Vatican, Pompeii, a beautiful resort on the Amalfi coast called Positano and managed to feast on as much Italian food as I could manage!
Have you ever met anyone famous? I recently managed to bag a selfie with Benji, the lead singer of Skindred, a Reggae Metal band, before watching one of their gigs.
I can’t get through the week without… Lots of cups of tea!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Originally when I was very small, a vet, then as I grew up a bit I decided on a lawyer (I think this is related to watching Legally Blonde when it first came out!), throughout university I either wanted to be a journalist or to work in marketing/editing… After graduating I fell into a sales job at Building Product Design and haven’t looked back!
