Name: Dave Collinge
Job title: Assistant Warehouse Manager
How long have you worked for Passivent/Building Product Design?
Unbelievably 37 years and counting! I started as an innocent, wide-eyed 19 year old in June ’85 and I’ve progressed within the department seeing many changes over the years including 5 warehouse moves.
What are the key aspects of your role?
I’ve always been involved with transport and logistics, I’m good at visualising how freight can be loaded and planning vehicle routes.
What is your favorite film and why?
I’m a big movie fan and my holiday hobby is finding movie locations…there are so many brilliant movies, I couldn’t choose just one.
I can’t get through the week without…
A Friday night takeaway and a holiday to look forward to.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I never really knew, that’s why I’ve not deviated in my career.
What TV show are you currently binge watching?
All 7 series of The West Wing, yet again! I think it’s perfect TV, Aaron Sorkin’s dialog writing is like poetry and it’s the show that pioneered the ‘walk & talk’ style that became popular in American dramas.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I’m usually up before dawn as I’m a regular at car boot sales and the best items for sale go early.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Posh and Becks playing on the video games in a deserted Trafford Centre, very late on a Wednesday night.
Staycation or exotic holiday?
I’ve been to USA 26 times and counting, growing up in the 70s watching TV shows like Starsky and Hutch and The Dukes of Hazzard, America always captivated me and continues to do so.
