Displacement Wind Driven Ventilation

This strategy requires Airscoop roof mounted devices to capture prevailing wind and channel it down segregated chambers into the building. The cooler, denser air displaces warmer, lighter air upwards, which is drawn out through the leeward chambers of the terminal. Separate continuous ducts are necessary to direct the incoming air into the occupied spaces and prevent it escaping directly via the leeward side of the device.

Airscoop displacement ventilation terminals are specifically designed to maximise wind energy to efficiently ventilate deep plan or large spaces. They can even provide ventilation naturally into areas where air cannot be drawn from the building façade.

Airscoop displacement terminals will continue to operate effectively irrespective of wind direction and on windless days will revert to passive stack mode.
