Cross-flow and Passive Stack Ventilation
Passive stack ventilation (PSV) is the most effective natural ventilation strategy as it uses a combination of cross ventilation, buoyancy (warm air rising) and the venturi (wind passing over the terminals causing suction) effect.
Use of Passivent High Capacity Terminals can ventilate twice the depth into a building compared to single sided ventilation strategies and provides effective night cooling as internal and external temperatures have a higher variance at night increasing convection.
Combining High Capacity Terminals with Aircool façade ventilators also allows fresh incoming air to be drawn through the occupied space from the façade. This cross-flow strategy allows ventilation of deep plan spaces and effective distribution of fresh air.
