SEPTEMBER 07 - GIVING COLOUR AN AIRING…
A further dimension is being aired on commercial and
domestic windows and conservatories by Passivent Ltd.
One of the UK’s leading suppliers of background
ventilation products, the company has developed additional
options to the growing demand for colour: it can paint
not only the frames, but the window ventilators too.
Until recently, PVCu windows have predominantly been
white or woodgrain, with ventilators available in white
or brown. The technology employed by Passivent enables
any RAL or Pantone colour to be used, and enables both
windows and tricklevents to be coated simultaneously,
ensuring an exact match of colour to both elements, or
for the tricklevents to be individually coated to provide
a contrast and make a feature of the window design. The
paint used is high quality, weather-proof and UV stable,
and is guaranteed for 10 years.
Using years of experience applying durable finishes
to exterior building materials, Passivent has already
achieved approved applicator status for its window finish.
Passivent tricklevents are simple to install on the
window frame, and feature a number of innovative design
features such as upwards directional airflow to alleviate
draughts and discomfort, a trickle facility to ensure
a constant supply of fresh air even when closed and humidity
sensitive and acoustic options. When used in conjunction
with BBA- approved Passivent systems instead of intermittent
ventilation fans, only one vent per habitable room, giving
2500mm2 net ventilation, is required to achieve compliance
with latest Building Regulations
For noisy locations, acoustic options area available,
providing sound attenuation down to 42dBn,e,w.
Passivent is the only natural ventilation supplier to
offer independent BBA certification across its range,
proven in use for over 20 years. In addition to its background
trickle ventilators, it supplies the Fresh range of through
wall ventilators, plus ‘whole house’ natural
ventilation solutions and continuous mechanical extract
ventilation, with or without acoustic options, all of
which contribute towards efficient ventilation of the
home with little or no energy consumption. Passivent
is part of the Building Product Design Group, which specialises
in developing innovative yet practical ventilation and
roofing products in line with changing market requirements.
